Course Objective

Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) is a lean manufacturing methodology designed to reduce the time it takes to change over a production process from one product to another. SMED is critical to manufacturing efficiency because it helps to minimize non-value-added time and increase production flexibility. This course will provide a comprehensive understanding of SMED, including its history, principles, and tools.

Students will learn how to identify waste in the changeover process, differentiate between internal and external setup activities, and use techniques like parallel processing and standardization to reduce setup times. The course will also cover the different types of changeovers and the factors that influence them. Upon completion, students will be able to implement SMED techniques in their own manufacturing processes and improve production efficiency by reducing changeover times, increasing machine uptime, and reducing inventory levels.

Certification Exam

• Each certification candidate is required to pass a written examination that consists of multiple choice and/or descriptive questions measuring comprehension of the Body of Knowledge.
• The exam will be conducted online.
• It is only offered in English.
• Learners need to appear for the final test within 12 months of purchasing the course. Course access will remain till the access period as per the applicability
• Learners can clear their doubts arising during the study within 01 years from the date of purchasing the course

Pass Criteria:  > 60% marks

Certificate Program- Please note that only E-Certificates will be issued in this course. No hard copy will be mailed to your address.

Note: For candidates clearing the exam successfully, the certificate shall be issued by Quality HUB India, which is a registered organization with GOI for training and certification courses.

Step 2: Fill Candidate Registration Form attached in your Course Content Section and submit it in QHI Portal with a complete postal address and payment ID of INR 500/-

Step 3:  You must wait 30 days to get a hard copy of the Certificate.
